LNIG Top 8 quarterfinal timetable set

Will Lioli and LCS reach the final again?
The schedule for the 2017 LNIG Top 8 quarterfinals has been confirmed. The highly-anticipated knockout competition featuring the top eight league finishers from last season will kick off this weekend with the quarterfinal first legs.

On Saturday the action will be at Setsoto Stadium.

The tournament will open with defending champions Lioli facing Likhopo at 13:00 while the second game of the day is set to be a humdinger with Vodacom Premier League Bantu facing Matlama at 15:00.

The two sides met in a league encounter last month and served up an entertaining tie which Tse Putsoa won. Likhopo and Matlama have been drawn as the home sides in Saturday’s respective first legs.

On Sunday the action will move to the Maputsoe DiFA Stadium with Sundawana hosting Kick4Life at 13:00 and LDF playing LCS at 15:00.

The return legs will be played at the end of the month. February 25 will see a double header of quarterfinal second legs at the LCS Stadium. In the first game of the day LCS will play host to LDF before dark-horses Kick4Life and Sundawana take the field to finish their squabble.

The following day’s return legs will see a break from the double header format. Bantu will host Matlama at the Leshoboro Sports Complex in Mafeteng while Lioli will host Likhopo at the LCS Stadium.

The semi-finals and final will be played in April at Setsoto on a date yet to be confirmed. The champions will go home M100 000 richer.
